These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the HistoryAround mobile app and related server infrastructure (collectively, the "Service"), provided by Eren Özata ("we", "us"). By installing or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You can use the Service anonymously, or sign in with Google to enable Cloud Sync and to subscribe to Premium. Some features described below are only available when you are signed in.
The Privacy Policy is incorporated by reference and forms part of these Terms.
The Service is intended for users aged 13 and older. By using the Service you confirm that you are at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
Signing in with Google is optional for free use of the Service. Signing in is required to subscribe to Premium, so that your subscription is attached to your Google account and follows you across devices instead of being tied to a single device.
An account is created when you first sign in with Google. You are responsible for maintaining the security of the Google account you use to sign in. We rely on Google to authenticate you and do not see or store your Google password.
You may sign out at any time from Settings, or permanently delete your account and cloud backup using "Delete account" in Settings. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel your Google Play subscription — you must cancel it yourself in Google Play.
HistoryAround Premium is offered as a monthly or annual auto-renewing subscription, processed entirely through Google Play. By purchasing Premium you authorise Google Play to charge your payment method at the start of each billing period at the price displayed in Google Play at the time of purchase. Both plans grant identical Premium features; only the billing period and price differ.

HistoryAround uses Google's Gemini model to generate the descriptive text shown on discovery cards and lens buttons. AI output is presented as a creative, exploratory layer over publicly available data — not as a verified historical record.
HistoryAround is a discovery and entertainment app, not a navigation, mapping, or safety tool. Location accuracy depends on your device's GPS, mobile network, and surrounding environment, and may be wrong or unavailable.
Do not use HistoryAround to navigate while driving, cycling, or in any situation where inaccurate location data could result in injury. Always stay aware of your surroundings — especially when using background scanning while walking — and obey local traffic laws, private property signage, and access restrictions for historical sites.

If you reuse this content outside the app, you must comply with the applicable license, including attribution and share-alike requirements where they apply.
Collections, saved places, notes, and session history you create remain yours. By enabling Cloud Sync you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, transmit, and process that data on our servers solely to provide the Cloud Sync feature, deliver it back to your devices, and respond to support requests you initiate. We do not sell your content, use it to train AI models, or share it with advertisers.
The Service is provided on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee uptime, response time, or that any specific feature will remain available. We may add, modify, or discontinue features at any time. We may also deliver bug fixes and minor changes over the air via Expo Updates without requiring a Play Store update.
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, abuse the fair-use limits, or use the Service in a way that imposes disproportionate cost or risk on our infrastructure. Where reasonably possible we will give notice first.
You may stop using the Service at any time. Uninstalling the app does not cancel your Premium subscription — cancel it in Google Play.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT DISCOVERY CONTENT IS ACCURATE, THAT LOCATION DATA IS RELIABLE, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS EXCLUDES OR LIMITS ANY WARRANTY OR RIGHT THAT CANNOT BE EXCLUDED OR LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR REPUTATION ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR USD 50, WHICHEVER IS GREATER. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS LIABILITY FOR DEATH, PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY NEGLIGENCE, FRAUD, OR ANY OTHER LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE EXCLUDED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, demand, or damages (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party right.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version is always available at this URL. If a change is material, we will surface notice in the app or by email (where you have signed in with Google). Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer-protection rights available to you in your country of residence remain unaffected.
